PVC panels interlock, need a lighter frame, go up fast and are entirely unaffected by steam. In a bathroom, a utility area or an enclosed balcony, that makes them the sensible specification.

Is PVC ceiling good for a bedroom?
We would not recommend it. The interlocking joints are visible at close range and the surface reads as plastic under direct light. For a bedroom, gypsum board gives a seamless painted finish for a modest cost difference. PVC earns its place in bathrooms and utility areas where moisture rules gypsum out.
Does PVC ceiling turn yellow?
Lower-grade panels do, particularly where they get direct sunlight through a window. Panels with a UV-stabilised surface hold their colour considerably better. In an internal bathroom with no natural light it is rarely an issue either way.
Can I access plumbing above a PVC ceiling?
Yes — individual panels spring out and go back without damage, which is a real advantage in a bathroom where a leak from the flat above has to be reached. A gypsum ceiling in the same position has to be cut and re-finished.
