About interior painting
Cutting lines at the ceiling, around switches and along skirtings are where workmanship shows. We mask properly and cut by hand rather than relying on tape alone, which tends to bleed on textured walls.

Interior Painting — questions
Which finish should I choose for which room?
Washable emulsion in the kitchen, passage and children's rooms where walls get touched. Matte in bedrooms and the living room, where it reads better and marks are less likely. Satin in bathrooms if they are not tiled to ceiling.
Why do my edges look uneven?
Usually tape-only cutting on a slightly textured wall, where paint bleeds under the edge. Hand cutting with a brush gives a cleaner line on anything but a perfectly smooth surface.

House Painting
Paint failure is almost never the paint. It is the preparation and the number of coats actually applied.

Waterproof paint is not waterproofing. It helps a sound wall resist water; it will not stop a wall that is being fed.
