Small Modular Kitchen Design
In a small kitchen the usable storage is vertical. Most small kitchens stop at the wall units and waste the metre above them.

About small modular kitchen
Mumbai kitchens in 1BHK and compact 2BHK flats are frequently under 50 square feet. Standard modular layouts, designed around considerably larger rooms, waste space in a kitchen that cannot afford it.
The gains in a small kitchen come from going up and from choosing drawers over shelves. Wall units taken to the ceiling rather than stopping at 2,100 mm add a full extra tier. Base drawers rather than shutters mean you reach the back without emptying the front.

Small Modular Kitchen — questions
How do I get more storage into a small kitchen?
Go vertical and switch to drawers. Wall units taken to the ceiling add a tier most kitchens leave empty, and base drawers instead of shuttered shelves mean you reach the back of a cabinet without unloading the front. Those two changes typically add more usable storage than any amount of rearranging.
Is a tall unit worth the floor space?
Usually yes. A single 600 mm tall unit holds roughly what 1,200 mm of base plus wall units hold, and it gets the microwave and oven off the counter — which in a small kitchen is the scarcest surface you have.
Can I reduce the counter depth?
To 550 mm, which recovers 50 mm of aisle and is barely noticeable in use. Below that, standard appliances and sinks stop fitting properly, so it is not a lever you can pull far.
